Our featured pets for this week are Freddie and Marley.

Freddie

Freddie is a handsome 6-year-old black and white cat. His owner entered a nursing home and family members were not able to take Freddie in so he was surrendered to the humane society. Freddie is a charming fellow. A mature cat like Freddie would be a great companion for a senior citizen who is looking for a buddy to share the couch and just be a best friend. Come for a visit and see if Freddie is the perfect match for you!

Marley is a sweet 3-year-old yellow lab mix. He was adopted from the humane society as a puppy but now after three years his family moved and decided Marley would not be making the move with them. Marley was allowed to get quite over-weight so his new owner will need to give him regular exercise and control his diet. Marley does well on a leash and gets along with other dogs. Do you have room in your heart and your home to give Marley a second chance?

Join us this weekend for a PetSmart Charities National Adoption Event. The Danville-Boyle County Humane Society will be participating at the Brannon Crossing PetSmart on U.S. 27 just north of Nicholasville. We will have many adorable puppies and dogs in need of loving forever homes. There will also be cuddly rescue kittens and cats available for adoption all weekend during store hours. Our puppies and dogs will be at PetSmart on Saturday from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. and on Sunday from noon-5 p.m. If you are considering adding a new pet to your family, this will be the perfect opportunity to find your new best friend.

This Saturday at 12:30 is our monthly DBCHS introductory obedience class. It is held inside the service department at the Stuart Powell Ford Dealership on the U.S.127 Danville Bypass. Please pre-register for the class by emailing dbchs@bellsouth.net or you may call the humane society at (859) 238-1117. Space is limited so please sign up by Friday at noon.

Low-cost, high-quality spay/neuter surgery is available for pet owners with low and fixed incomes.  Call our Happy Paws Clinic today at (859) 691-1137 for an appointment.
