Loretta Hopkins

1936-2017

Loretta (Naylor) Hopkins, 81, of Crab Orchard, passed away Sunday, April 30th, at her home. She was the widow of Elby Hopkins who preceded her in death on January 13, 2009. Loretta was born in Lincoln County on February 26, 1936, to the late Leo “Bunk” and Ollie (Hensley) Naylor. She was a former employee of Cowdens Manufacturing and Joe Hammons Grocery Store. Loretta was a member of the Crab Orchard Church of Christ.

Survivors Include her daughter, Sandra Kay Scott of Crab Orchard; son, Lester and wife Shelley Hopkins of Crab Orchard; daughter, Chelsea Rose Hopkins of Crab Orchard; sister, Rosella Gaither of Crab Orchard; sister, Linda and husband Bill Dyehouse of Crab Orchard; sister, Carolyn and husband Eddie Hamm of Brodhead; and 10 grandchildren 

In addition to her parents and husband, Loretta was preceded in death by sons, Ricky Clay Hopkins and Eddy Wayne Hopkins; brothers, Marion Naylor and Warren Francis Naylor; sister, Mary Helen Cummins

Pallbearers include Adam Hopkins, Crissy McLaren, Missy Kemp, Jessica Fletcher, Clay Hopkins, Rachel Speer, John Hopkins Scott, Lucas Hopkins and Matthew Taylor Hopkins. Honorary pallbearers are Marshall Brown Scott, Gerald Smith, Bill Dyehouse, Roger Adams, Ronnie Sizemore, Lonnie Napier, Lester Fletcher, Ray Noe and Karissa McLaren.

Funeral services held 1 p.m. Thursday, May 4, 2017, at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. J.M. Raulerson and Shelby Roy Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in the Crab Orchard Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 – 9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at McKnight Funeral Home.
