Nancy J. Cathey

1936-2017

Nancy J. Cathey, 80, of Danville, died April 29, 2017. Born October 1936 in Frankfort, IN to Frank and Hazel Wainscott. She was a preschool teacher and an activities director in a retirement village, where her love of music and singing led her to begin a “Kitchen” band. She played the washtub beside her mother, who played the washboard. She moved to Danville, in 2001. 

Survivors include sister, Donna Sprungerl; children, Vickie Edwards, Kelly Ray, David Cathey and Wayne Cathey.

She requested her body be donated for medical education and research.
