African children’s choir to sing

STANFORD — The congregation of Stanford Baptist Church invites the public to worship with them as they host the Watoto African Children’s Choir in concert at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 11. This group is comprised of 18 orphans from Uganda. They travel the United States singing, dancing, and sharing their testimonies. The choir will perform native music in native costume in what will be a moving experience for everyone. The concert is free but an offering will be received to help offset the choir’s expenses.

Fish fry

PAINT LICK — The Paint Lick Fairview Christian Church is having a fish fry from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, May 6 at the church. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children under age 12. The menu includes fish, hushpuppies, baked beans, fries, cole slaw, drinks and homemade desserts.

Singing

The Higginbothams, of Russell Springs, will sing at Mt. Salem Baptist Church at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, May 7. Everyone is invited to attend.

ABC Sale planned

Trinity Episcopal Church is having its annual ABC Sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 13 at the church, 320 West Main St. The sale boasts of “beautiful clutter” and will feature Barbara’s Attic of fine dishes, furniture, antiques and jewelry. Proceeds from the ABC Sale will be benefit Trinity Episcopal Church and the Isaiah House treatment center.

Rally Day

First Baptist Church, Second and Walnut Streets, Danville, will be having their Annual Rally Day on Sunday, May 7. Morning service begins at 11 a.m. Guests for the 3 p.m. service is Rev. Dr. Floyd Greene and congregation, First Baptist Church, Versailles.

Youth Yard Sale

Danville First Church of God, 3220 Harrodsburg Road, is having a yard sale for the benefit of its youth ministry from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 12 and 13. There will also be flowers, hanging baskets, etc.
