Jeanette Jones

1935-2017

Jeanette Jones, 82, of Stanford, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017. She was born on April 12, 1935 in Lincoln County to the late Harry and Jimmie McGill. Jeanette was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Jimmy Jones.

Her devotion to God and family supported her through her struggles and gave her ultimate peace. Jeanette loved taking care of her family and friends, cooking for them, and loved talking on the phone with friends and family catching up on the latest news. She enjoyed her friends at the Senior Citizen Center in Stanford. Above all, Jeanette was devoted to her family and was loved by all. She had been active and long standing member of First Baptist Church of Stanford.

Surviving are a son, JP Jones (Debbie) of Nicholasville; two daughters, Theresa Jones of Stanford and Patricia Newman (Paul) of Louisville; a sister, Gerline Wilkinson of Danville; loving nephews, Wayne Wilkinson, Tony Wilkinson, and Richard Caldwell (Bea); brother-in-law, Ronnie Jones (Delores); grandchildren, William Patrick Jones of Nicholasville, Paul Jones and James Newman, both of Louisville, and Derek Jones of Stanford; and great grandchildren, Rileigh Jones, Patrick Jones, and Bentley Jones. She is also survived by numerous, loving nieces, cousins, and friends. Jeanette was also preceded in death by a brother, Ray McGill and a great-grandchild, Peyton Jones.

Funeral services 1 p.m. Monday, May 8, 2017 at First Missionary Baptist Church in Stanford with Pastor Floyd Raglin officiating. Burial in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are William Jones, Paul Jones, James Newman, Richard Caldwell, Tony Wilkinson, and Wayne Wilkinson.
