Our featured pets for this week are Toby and Spider.

Toby

Toby is a very handsome 1-year-old orange tabby. His previous owner had health issues and could no longer care for Toby so he was brought to the humane society. Toby is very social and outgoing. He is fairly vocal and enjoys following people around, much like a little dog. Toby has settled in quickly to his present surroundings and gets along fine with other cats. Toby is declawed so he needs an indoor home and that is where he would be most happy anyway. If you are looking for a feline sidekick, Toby would be a great choice!

Spider is a cute Chihuahua mix that was found running loose and picked up by animal control for his safety. No one has reclaimed this little guy and his stray hold is up so he needs a new home. Spider appears to be about 10 years young and weighs around 12 pounds. He’s quite lively and quick on his feet. Spider is a small dog with a big personality and he is sure to bring a lot of joy to his new home. Come for a visit and see if Spider would be a good match for your family!

Would you like to help the animals at the DBCHS find their forever homes? We need enthusiastic volunteers who love animals and interacting with people to help at our adoption center at the PetSmart at Brannon Crossing in Nicholasville on weekend afternoons. This is fun and rewarding work. By donating just a few hours of your time you can help a puppy or kitty have a lifetime filled with love. Please contact our volunteer coordinator by email at humanevolunteer@gmail.com or call the humane society to find out how you can help with placing homeless animals with their new forever families.

Low-cost, high-quality spay/neuter surgery is available for pet owners with low and fixed incomes. Call our Happy Paws Clinic today at (859) 691-1137 for an appointment. Please help control pet over-population by having your pet spayed or neutered.
