P.E.O. Chapter 1, a philanthropic educational organization, held its annual Chautauqua Tea Thursday at Centenary Methodist Church in Danville. Aside from women wearing their finest tea sipping apparel and fancy hats, the chapter also awarded its $2,500 STAR scholarship to Elizabeth Lyons, a Boyle County High School finishing senior who will attend Western Kentucky University. The tea du jour was the Great American Brass Band Festival mango tea, especially designed by master tea blender Bruce Richardson from Elmwood Inn Fine Teas. The program included a performance by pianist Dick Domek and The Chicago Footwarmers.
