Roy C. Cope

1945-2017

Roy C. Cope, 72, of Danville went to his Heavenly Home on Monday, June 5, 2017. Born January 8, 1945, he was the son of the late Ernest L. and Georgie Bertram Cope.

He owned and operated Roy Cope Roofing for over 40 years. He was a long time member of Pleasant Run Baptist Church. Roy was a devoted husband and a wonderful father and grandfather. He loved fishing but most importantly, he loved sharing the gospel.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Doris McGirr Cope; James Carroll (Tracy) Cope of Danville; Stacy (Tracy) Cope of Gravel Switch; four brothers: James, Billy, Kenneth and Ronnie Cope; two sisters: Connie Bodner and Brenda Phillips; five grandchildren: Josh Cope, Zack Cope, Angela Jordan, Cassidy Cope and Cody Cope; two great-grandchildren: Ryder and Axl Jordan.

Services are 11 a.m. Friday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by Bro. JR Fields with burial in Hustonville Cemetery. Pallbearers are Josh Cope, Zack Cope, Cody Cope, Al Hough, Ronald Douglas and Charlie Gray. Honorary pallbearer is Wayne Godbey. Visitation is 6-9 p.m. Thursday. Guestbook is at www.wlpruitt.com.
