A warrant has been issued for Jerry Mathes after he failed to appear in Boyle County Circuit Court Tuesday. Charges against Mathes stem from an Oct. 24, 2014, altercation with a customer involving a handgun at his former business, Jerry’s Body Shop.

Danville Police officers were called to Jerry’s Body Shop at about 11 p.m. the night of the alleged incident. Mathes and Ricky Cole, a customer at the time, were allegedly engaged in a fight. Cole had suffered a gun shot wound.

Mathes faces charges of assault; possession of a controlled substance (cocaine); and possession of drug paraphernalia.
