Hundley was indicted for first-degree wanton endangerment for allegedly “wantonly” pointing a firearm “in such a way that it created a substantial danger of death or serious physical injury” to another person; fourth-degree assault for allegedly striking the same person; and third-degree terrorist threatening for allegedly threatening to kill the same person.

Bail was set at $5,000 following the indictment. Kody Cloud with the Boyle County Sheriff’s Office testified.

According to files obtained in the Boyle County District Clerk’s office, Hundley was arrested at 7:31 p.m. on May 21 by the Boyle County Sheriff’s Office.

A complaint alleges that shortly after midnight on May 21, Hundley grabbed a victim in a chokehold and threw the person to the ground, then sat on top of the victim, continuing to choke the person. According to the complaint, Hundley eventually got up and the victim attempted to call 911, but Hundley again used a chokehold.

When the victim stated plans to call 911 again, Hundley allegedly grabbed a shotgun and stated that he would kill the victim before police arrived.

Hundley resigned from his position with the Danville Police Department in March 2016, following a February 2016 wreck in which Hundley was driving while intoxicated. In February 2017, Hundley pleaded guilty to charges in that case.

Goodlett indicted

A man accused of kicking out a jail transport vehicle and fleeing while still in handcuffs was also indicted by the Boyle County grand jury on June 14.

Bail was set at $5,000 following the indictment. Mercer County Jailer Bret Chamberlain testified.

Chamberlain told The Advocate-Messenger he was transporting Goodlett in his transport van on May 12 when Goodlett kicked out a window of the van and fled.

Goodlett allegedly ran into the old ATR building, now home to Danville Office and Industrial Liquidators, the Bluebird Market and a portion of DANA Incorporated.

Boyle County Sheriff and K9 Deputy Djanco assisted in located Goodlett inside the building.

Chamberlain said after the incident it was evidence he needs more funding for better prisoner transport vehicles.

“The (Mercer County) Fiscal Court is doing the best it can, but I need help, wherever it comes from,” Chamberlain said. “I need help to properly keep people safe and secure.”
