Ellen “Pat” Martin

1929-2017

Ellen “Pat” Elizabeth Lusk Martin, 88, passed away July 15, 2017 at her home in Lancaster KY. Her loving caregivers were with her.

She was born to William Hunter Lusk and Ellen Cameron Hyde Lusk on Feb. 24, 1929 in Ashland, KY. She was a graduate of Fern Creek High School in Louisville, KY and attended various universities for degrees centering on teaching children with special needs. She retired from Garrard County Schools as an elementary school counselor.

She was the wife of Charles Thorpe Martin IV (deceased) and is survived by her children, Kathy Fraley (John), Louisville, Thorpe Martin, Lancaster, Judi Martin (Bill O’mara) and Bill Martin (Lisa) both of Nicholasville. She had 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Her brothers, Robert Lusk (Ruthe) and David Lusk (Ruth) also survive her. Her brother, Hunter Lusk (Ann) predeceased her.

She will be buried at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. A celebration of her life will be held August 5, 2017 from 2 to 4 at the home of her daughter, Kathy Fraley. Memorial contributions may be made to UK Children’s Hospital, Heritage Hospice or a charity of your choice.
