Danville police have located a white truck and its driver, who allegedly fled the scene of an injury wreck along the Danville bypass Monday night.

According to police, the suspect, David M. Oviatt, 49, of La Porte, Indiana was found at a local hotel Tuesday Morning by Officer Luke Hughes, who is investigating the accident. Oviatt has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident, failure to render aid.

The wreck occurred around 11:15 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Hustonville Road and the bypass, according to a news release from the Danville Police Department.

“According to statements obtained on scene, a white truck, possible a newer model Ford, pulling a trailer, was traveling eastbound on the Danville bypass and ran the red light,” the release reads.

The truck collided with a 2017 Dodge Durango drive by Danville resident Sasha Singleton, 29, according to the release.

“As a result of this impact, Singleton’s vehicle spun around and struck a 2004 Buick Rendezvous, driven by Delores Boyd, 36, of Junction City,” the release reads. “… Emergency crews treated Boyd and Singleton on scene and transported Singleton via ground ambulance to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.”

According to witnesses, the white truck fled eastbound on the bypass. Danville police contacted neighboring law enforcement agencies in an attempt to locate the truck and driver.

According to the release Danville police recovered evidence on scene from the fleeing vehicle.
