Bradfordsville Jamboree planned

BRADFORDSVILLE — The Bradfordsville Jamboree will be 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11 at the old Bradfordsville school gym. Doors open at 5 p.m. Kentucky South Band with Phillip Clarkson, and special guest Lindsey Hatfield will be playing. Admission is $10. Meal of roast beef, mashed potatoes, cole slaw, dessert and drink is $9. Concessions will also be available. All proceeds go toward the upkeep of the building. Free colon cancer screening kits available

Kentucky CancerLink, Inc. is offering free and painless at home colon cancer screening kits to people over the age of 50 who have not had a colonoscopy. Colon cancer kills, but it’s treatable if detected early. Call (859) 309-1700 to rquest a free kit.

The nonprofit’s mission is to provide support to Kentuckians by reducing and/or eliminating barriers to screening, diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

Blood drive

The American Red Cross, sponsored by with the Boyle County EMS and Boyle County Fiscal Court is having a blood drive from 1-6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11 at the EMS headquarters meeting room, located at 1856 South Danville Bypass.
