JUNCTION CITY — There will be memorial for the hero of the Battle of Kings Mountain and Kentucky’s first governor, Isaac Shelby, at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9 at Isaac Shelby Cemetery State Historic Site, Junction City. The event is free to the public.The ceremony will be conducted by the John Sevier Chapter of the Overmountain Victory Trail Association in 18th Century period dress.
