Heart director never used the word ‘fail’

Dear Editor,

This letter is in response to Wilma Brown’s letter published in the Advocate-Messenger on Monday, August 14, 2017.

If Ms. Brown had looked closer to the Heart of Danville Executive Director Nick Wade’s comments in the Weekly Pulse, she would have noticed that Nick Wade was referencing the quotes in the Advocate-Messenger and that is why they were in quotation marks. He did not use the words “fail” or “failure” in that article.

Nick Wade works very hard and is extremely loyal to all downtown businesses.  Not only is that his job but it is his passion. Anyone that knows Nick clearly knows this about him.

As Ms. Brown stated in her letter “word choice matters in business promotion.” Word choice matters when you deal with people, whether they are community leaders, friends, family or neighbors. So instead of tearing people down, try for once to treat people in a positive way.  The world would be a better place if we all focused on the positive things.
