Pets of the Week, Aug. 22

Photographs are courtesy of Ronnie Logue. Our featured pets for this week are Zorro and Carly.

Zorro is a precious 3-month-old black and white kitten with medium length hair. He has the cutest face with pretty markings and inquisitive eyes and likes to greet you with a sweet little “meow”. Zorro was a little shy when he first came to us, but he is adjusting nicely to his new surroundings. Zorro will make someone a special friend for life. Could that someone be you?

Carly is a pretty medium-sized mixed breed dog. She appears to be a young adult, about 2 years old. We don’t have any background information on Carly as she was a stray. You would not believe it to see her now, but she was very scared and hard to catch when she was found running at large. Carly is now a different dog. As you can see in her photo, she has a big smile on her face and a loving and sweet temperament. Carly deserves a special home where she will get the attention and care that she needs.

Volunteering at our PetSmart adoption center at the Brannon Crossing Shopping Center is easy, fun, and rewarding! You can help save the lives of homeless pets, how awesome is that! It only takes a few hours on a weekend afternoon. For more information and to receive volunteer sign-up emails contact humanevolunteer@gmail.com today. Giving back feels great — come and see for yourself.

The Humane Society is currently caring for many kittens and puppies. Donations of Purina Kitten Chow and Purina Puppy Chow are needed along with cat litter and cleaning supplies, including bleach, paper towels, liquid laundry detergent, dish detergent and hand soap. We always need used towels and blankets. Your gifts to the animals are greatly appreciated.

Low-cost, high-quality spay/neuter surgery is available for pet owners with low and fixed incomes.  Call our Happy Paws Clinic today at (859) 691-1137 for an appointment. Please help control pet over-population by having your pet spayed or neutered.
