Shirley Henry

1940-2017

Shirley Mae Rucker Henry, 76, of Junction City, passed away Monday at Harrodsburg Health and Rehab in Harrodsburg. She was born on September 5, 1940 in Shelbyville, Kentucky to the late James David Rucker and Mary Mitchell.

At the age of 18, Shirley was married to the late Kenneth Henry, Sr. She worked at many diffent jobs to take care of her family. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant during her later years and was inducted into the Harrodsburg Heathcare Center 2016 Hall of Fame in honor of her service to others. 

Even as a resident there, she continued to encourage all care providers to always treat everyone with love and respect.

Surviving are three sons, Jim Henry (Michael Stewart) of Florence, Mississippi, Anthony Henry of Junction City, and Daniel Henry (Marcia) of Junction City; six grandchildren: Mindy Pauley, Whitney Francis, Jake Henry, Brandi Farris, Cara Henry, and Christopher Lunsford; and eight great-grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Henry Jr. Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home from 10 am-12 noon. Graveside services and burial will be at 1 PM Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Beech Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
