Dear Editor,

I have a qualm that I need to get off my chest.

Danville wants to be called “City of Firsts.” In my opinion, it is a lie. “City of Firsts” is supposed to include all citizens, but it doesn’t. I am a citizen of Danville, Kentucky, but when you go into any place on Main Street all you see is white faces. I can count on my fingers how many black African-American faces you see in any business, courthouse, city water department, etc.

People, what is wrong with you? Do you think God is going to separate you from us? Well I’m here to tell you no. But he will judge our hearts and see the hatred and racism it holds on both sides.

You are quick to hire those with pink, green or purple hair.

Come on City of Firsts. Let’s get our hearts right with God and come together in unity for all, not just what you want.
