Alfred E. Smith

1942-2017

Alfred E. “Al” Smith, 75, of Danville passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2017. Born July 4, 1942, he was the son of the late Everett Smith and Nannie Mae Pike Elliott. He was also preceded in death by his son, Stanley Smith and sister, Iona Gideon. 

He was a member of Bluegrass Pike Independent Baptist Church and a retired concrete construction independent contractor. He loved his work and took great pride in everything he did. 

Al is survived by his wife of 56 years, Alice Smith; daughter, Lisa Hardin; brothers, Marvin and Billy Elliott, sister, Vicki Burchett; grandchildren, Bradley and Brandon Hardin; and great-grandchild, Colton Hardin. 

Visitation is 4-6 pm, Sunday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held at 11 am, Monday at Danville Bellevue Cemetery by Bro. Travis Alltop. Pallbearers are Justin Faul, Stanley Burgam, Tom Potts, Calvin Burchett, Morgan Burchett and Ronnie Leffew. Honorary pallbearers are Brad Hardin, Brandon Hardin, J.D.
