Correction 

Kim Campbell, wife of the late Glen Campbell, will speak at a free event about Alzheimer’s 7 p.m. Sept. 28 at Centenary United Methodist Church, 1441 Perryville Road. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and participants may reserve a spot by emailing  themorningpointefoundation.com or by calling (877) 776-4683. The date of the event was incorrect in a story published Sept. 16.

Concert to benefit Hope Network

The Night of Hope will be 6-9 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Showroom, 2405 Lebanon Road, Danville. The concert features The Afters, Jason Gray and David Dunn. Cost to enter is $10 per car or $25 per van. Cedar Creek annual fish fry

STANFORD — Cedar Creek Sportsman’s Club is having its annual fish fry beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children, and children under age 4 can eat for free. There will be a $500 cash raffle, a gun raffle, door prizes will be awarded and there will be an auction. Everyone is welcome.

Boyle Farm Bureau annual meeting planned

The Boyle County Farm Bureau Federation is having its annual meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19 at the Showroom, located at 2405 Lebanon Road. A steak dinner will be served and cost is $4 per person. A program will follow the dinner. Members are asked to bring non-perishable items to donate to local food banks.

Ephraim McDowell Health sponsoring free health screenings on October 4

HARRODSBURG — Ephraim McDowell Health is sponsoring free health screenings at the Mercer County Health Department. The screenings will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon on October 4.

 Health screenings that will be offered are cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, body mass index, take-home colorectal cancer screening kits (over age 50), flu shots and stroke risk.  After the screenings are complete, participants will have the opportunity to discuss their results with a licensed health professional.

Participants should not eat 12 hours prior to their screening if they would like to have the blood test that gives them a full lipid panel. This gives the participant detailed information including their HDL, LDL, triglycerides and glucose. Medications except for diabetic medications may be taken with water.

Walk-ins are welcome but appointments are recommended. To schedule an appointment, please call (859) 734-4522, ext. 139. The screenings are open to the public for anyone 18 years and older.
