Governor appoints local people to advisory council
Gov. Matt Bevin recently named the following local people to the State Advisory Council for Exceptional Children.
• Libby Ellen Suttles, of Danville, is executive director of Wilderness Trace Child Development. She will represent private sector providers of programs for exceptional children and serve for a term expiring June 30, 2019.
• Barry Dale Lee, of Yosemite, is director of special education for Pulaski County Schools. He will represent members of the vocational, community or business organizations concerned with the provision
The Kentucky State Advisory Council for Exceptional Children is composed of 21 citizen members appointed by the Governor. The Council provides policy guidance with respect to special education and related services for children with disabilities in Kentucky and advises and assists the Department of Education regarding the provision of appropriate services for children aged birth through 20. The authority for the Council is mandated under the Individuals with Disabilities Act.
Kentucky State Police Lt. Paul Blanton, of Lancaster, received his promotion certificate on Sept. 7 from Justice Cabinet Secretary John Tilley (right) and KSP Commissioner Rick Sanders (left). A 13-year veteran of the agency, Blanton is assigned to the KSP Criminal Identification and Records Branch in Frankfort.
Lauren obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing at Eastern Kentucky University. She maintains board-certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Her nine years of nursing experience include primary and acute care. Lauren has a vast knowledge and passion for helping patients live the healthiest lifestyle possible and encouraging patients to be proactive in their health. Taking care of primary care needs of patients is something Lauren is passionate about and excited to begin at Ephraim McDowell Garrard Clinic.
