Lonetta Marie Smith

1960-2017

Lonetta Marie Smith went home to be with our Lord on October 3, 2017. She was born on May 6, 1960 in Lexington to Loretta Taylor and John Smith. Lonetta was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Smith and a great-grandchild, J’dyn Routt.

She went to Bryan Station High School in Lexington and was a member of the Pilgrim Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir her solo “Two Wings”, God gave those to her on Tuesday morning. 

Lonetta leaves one sister, Barbara Faulkner (Don), one brother, Marvin Smith, her mother, Loretta Taylor; her father, John M. Smith, and a special step-father, Albert Taylor, special step-mother, Joanne Smith. Lonetta was blessed with one daughter, Lytausha Routt (John), two grandchildren: De Andre and Tyra Routt; two special great-grandchildren: Jayce’ and Nova Neeley; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. 

Funeral services 1 PM Friday, October 6, 2017 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Rev. Hill and Rev. Smith officiating. Burial in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation Friday from 11 AM-1 PM at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Richard Caldwell, Rev. Ralph Smith, Marvin Smith, Tim Smith, Clarence Smith, Jerome Smith, and Harvey Chenault.
