Hall Mack Reunion

The ninth annual Hall Mack reunion is set for Saturday, Nov. 4 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Carpenter’s Christian Church (in the back), 127 North By-Pass. Bring a dish to share. Meat and soft drinks provided.

Danville-Boyle County Planning and Zoning — 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1 at city hall. Items on the agenda include subdivsion approvals for: Nancy Lacey who has applied for approval of a Final Plat Amendment Application containing 0.642 acres at 642 Seminole Trail, zoned General Residential large lot (GR-A);
Thomas Nolan has applied for approval of a Minor Plat containing 138.093 acres on Ky. 2168, Ky. 34 and Waterworks Road, zoned Agricultural Residential (AR-1); John and Janet Aumiller have applied for approval of a Minor Plat containing 61.554 acres on Ky. 150 , zoned AR-1; Bob and Janet Orms have applied for approval of a Minor Plat containing 1.269 acres off
of Ky. 52, zoned AR-1.

There will also be public hearings for: Bob Allen Collision Center has applied for approval of a Site Plan on 1.045 acres located at 467 Whirlaway Drive, zoned Highway Commercial (HC);
Bux, Bux, Rivard & Serey, LLC have applied for approval of a Site Plan for 1.136 acres on Ben-Ali Drive, zoned HC.

Halloween Carnival

A Halloween Carnival will be held Saturday, Oct. 28 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Forkland Community Center. Activities for the evening include games, contests, cake walks, eat in the witch’s kitchen, prizes and new this year – a fortune teller.

Heritage Hospice 4th Annual Tea and Treasure

Heritage Hospice volunteers will host their 4th Annual Tea and Treasure on Saturday, Nov. 4 at Centenary United Methodist Church located at 1441 Perryville Road, Danville. Tickets cost $25 per person and may be purchased at the Heritage Hospice office, located at 120 Enterprise Drive, Danville. Please ask for Wendy or Renee at (859) 236-2425. There are only 180 tickets available for this unique holiday event. Guests will want to linger around the table decked with fall-inspired touches and a marvelous assortment of tea fare. A silent auction will start at noon, and the tea will follow from 1 to  3 p.m. Johnny Durham, representing Coldwell Banker, will be our auctioneer.

Byron Crawford will be our guest speaker. He is a former television journalist and newspaper columnist.

Garden club to meet

The Garden Club of Danville meets at 1 p.m. the first Wednesday of the month, at Boyle County Extension Service Office. The program for November 1 is a holiday design workshop led by Jennifer Shevlin, club member and interior designer.  Design: Teacup arrangement using live or dried material. Horticulture: Branches with berries or cones, or any worthy specimen. Visitors  and prospective members are always welcome.
