Fall Festival

Perryville Methodist Church is sponsoring a fall festival on Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the church parking lot. The evening includes games, activities, food and door prizes.

Church Women United of Boyle and Mercer counties are celebrating Church Women United World Community Day at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3 at First Christian Church, 555 E. Lexington Road, Danville. A light breakfast will be served, followed by worship. A special collection will be taken to go to UNICEF.  Christian women of any denomination are invited. Fall Bazaar at Junction City

Junction City United Methodist Church will hold a Fall Bazaar, Saturday, Oct. 28, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Breakfast and lunch will be available as well as bake sale and craft items.

St. James to have food, yard sale 

At St. James AME Church at 124 E. Walnut St. in Danville, will have a fish and chicken dinner and a yard sale Saturday, Oct. 28. The yard sale will begin at 8 a.m., and the food sale will begin at 11 a.m. For carry-out orders, call the church at (859) 236-3241. 

Trunk or Treat at New Journey Baptist

New Journey Baptist Church, Bryantsville (next to Subway) will hold trunk or treat on Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Trunk or Treat at Willow Grove

Willow Grove Baptist Church, 4306 Stanford Road, will hold Trunk or Treat and soup on Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 5 to 7 p.m. Open to the public.

5th Sunday hymn sing

Mayo Christian Church will host a 5th Sunday hymn sing on Sunday, Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. The Good ‘Ole Boys will be the guest singers. Everyone is welcome for a night of “good ole singing.” The church is located at 1950 Central Pike, Harrodsburg. For more information, call Harry Humes, minister, at (606) 776-5245.

Night in a Box Night at New Journey Baptist

New Journey Baptist Church in Bryantsville (next to Subway) will hold its 2nd annual Night in a Box event on Friday, Nov. 3 starting at 6 p.m. This is to bring awareness to homelessness. They will also be accepting donations of money and non-perishable food items.

Church to meet at radio station

God’s Hometown Church on Main Street in Junction City, will not have an evening service on Sunday, Oct 29. Members of the congregation will be going to sing at 6 p.m. for WDFB Christian Radio Station’s Share-a-thon at the station on Alum Springs Road. The preacher is Bro. Donald Lear. Celebration of Reformation

Our Savior Lutheran Church will celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Reformation on Sunday, Oct. 29 at 9:30 a.m. The Reformation began Oct. 31, 1517 when the Augustinian monk Martin Luther posted his 95 Theses on the church door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany protesting the sale of indulgences. It ignited the Reformation of the church and gave birth to Protestantism. 

The service will include a reposting of the 95 theses on the church doors. As worshippers leave they will receive 95 theses for the church of the 21st century. A meal will follow the service. Visitors are welcome.
