Lexington man arrested for driving stolen vehicle in Danville

Danville police have arrested a Lexington man they found driving a stolen car Saturday.

Michael A. Dragonette, 54, of Lexington, was charged with receiving stolen property under $10,000, operating on a suspended driver’s license and possession of marijuana following a traffic stop on Jane Trail near Walmart, according to police.

Police Officer Brandon Record first observed the vehicle traveling on South Fourth Street and checked the status of its license plate, discovering it was listed as stolen from Lexington, according to a news release.

Record pulled the vehicle over on Jane Trail around 11 p.m. Saturday with assistance from Police Officer Steven DeBord and members of the Boyle County Sheriff’s Office, according to the release.

Dragonette was being held in the Boyle County Detention Center on a $5,000 cash bond Sunday night, according to detention center records.
