Johnny Denny

1953-2017

Johnny Denny, 64, of 109 Hagan Court, Lancaster, KY went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, November 2, 2017 when he passed away at his home. Born June 21, 1953, in Stanford, he was the son of the late Betty Powers Denny Candler and Johnny Denny. He was a decorated veteran, having served his country honorably in both the U.S. Air Force and Army for over twenty combined years. He was a member of the Forks of Dix River Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman, outdoorsman, and sports enthusiast, with a deep and unconditional love for God and family. He was a past President of Eaker A.F.B. Military Bass Anglers Association, a Military Arkansas Bass Angler of the Year, a Military Tennessee Bass Angler Rookie of the Year, and Grand Forks A.F.B. Fishing Base Champion. He was organizer of “Make a Wish Foundation” and other Military Base benefit fishing tournaments. Johnny was well known in his neighborhood for the beautiful varied flowers he grew as well as his caring acts of kindness. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Vicki Denny, and father-in-law, Eugene Carman. His survivors include his wife of 45 years, Charlotte Carman Denny; four sons John (Tina) Denny of La Grange, Jeremiah Denny of Owenton, Jacob (Ashley) Denny of Jacksonville, FL, and Jordan (Hannah) Denny of Lexington; two brothers Bobby (Jean) Denny of Danville and David Denny of Junction City; six grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Jackson, Heather, James, Jayden, Joel, and Brinnleigh; mother-in-law, Nola Grider Carman and 8 nieces and nephews and their families. He also leaves behind his faithful dog Friday.

Visitation will be from 5pm until 8pm on Tuesday, November 7th at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday November 8th, at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home by Rev. Jerry Browning, followed by burial services at Camp Nelson National Cemetery, where Air Force Honors will be rendered. Pallbearers will be Bobby, David, John, Jeremiah, Jacob & Jordan Denny.
