1931-2017

Hershel Clay Miller, 86, of Boyle Co., passed away Monday, Nov. 13, 2017 at his home.

He was born on in Madison Co., Ky., son of Burnam and Eva Foster Miller. He was a graduate of Kirksville High School, member of Kirksville Baptist Church and Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Hershel worked as a Real Estate Broker & Auctioneer more than 56 years. He was a partner in the former Miller-Patton Auction Co. and recent owner of Hershel Miller Auction Co. He auctioned livestock in various stockyards, including Garrard Co. & Boyle Co. Stockyards for many years. 

He was owner of Millers Marina on Herrington Lake and was a Director of First Southern National Bank. He loved his work, fishing and outdoors, visiting with family and friends and was an avid UK Basketball fan.

Survivors include his wife, Vena Holbrook Miller; son, Rick Miller (Peggy); daughters, Eva Pollard (Gary) and Vickie Record (Bobby); brother, Burnam Miller, Jr. (Doris); devoted family friend, Jackie White; 9 Grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 AM Friday, Nov. 17. 2017 at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, Richmond, with visitation from 5-9 PM Thursday. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Pollard, Dusty Pollard, Cody Pollard, Brandon Record, Brittany Record, Jonathon Miller.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Bobby Russell, Mike Isaacs, Danny Lynn, Mike Lay, Danny Lay, Calvin Walton. www.cpcfh.com
