David George Sims

1948-2017

David George Sims, age 69 of Bradfordsville, KY, passed away Friday, November 10, 2017 at his residence. He was born on July 15, 1948 in Boyle County, KY.

David was a 1967 graduate of Danville High School. After graduation, he then attended Western Kentucky University, before enlisting in the Marines. David was a member of First Baptist Church in Danville, KY.

He was preceded in death by: Father: Jesse Sims. Mother: Necia Adams Sims. Brother: Bennie Sims. Two Sisters: Bernice Sims Merrick and Joan Sims Teebs.

He is survived by: Companion for over 25 years, Virginia Henderson, Bradfordsville, KY. Son, David Teague Sims and wife, Dr. Laura Bonzo-Sims, Lexington, KY. Grandson, Griffin Sims, Lexington, KY. Virginia’s Children, Brian Rakes, Campbellsville, KY.; George Rakes, Lebanon, KY.; Mary Ann Rakes, Louisville, KY. Sister, Ruby Sims Bodner, Danville, KY.

The family has chosen Cremation and a Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Bosley Funeral Home, 246 South Proctor Knott Ave., Lebanon, Ky.

Visitations will be held from 11:00 A.M. until Service time at 1:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to The Marion County Veterans Honor Guard, 50 Old Loretto Road, Lebanon, Ky. 40033.
