Two more of the eight men arrested in a sex sting operation in October were scheduled for preliminary hearings in the Boyle County District Court on Wednesday, but instead had their cases waived to the Boyle County Grand Jury.

Mark A. Shelton, 33, of Stanford, and Shawn A. Williams, 39, of Springfield were waived, said Boyle County Attorney Lynne Dean.

Five others: Dequan L. Brown, 23, of Lebanon; Joseph A. Brown, 49, of Danville; Hubert D. Carter, 52, of Ennis, Texas; Michael S. Cruse, 46, of Columbus, Mississippi; and Justin P. Jones, 40, of Stanford; were waived last week.

Dean said she had hoped to have the seven cases heard by the November grand jury, but instead the cases will likely be heard in December.

That would leave Paul F. Hilpp, 28, of Lebanon, who is scheduled to appear at 9 a.m. on Jan. 2. He is out of jail on a $15,000 bond; he bonded out before being arraigned.

Cruse has bonded out of jail on a $20,000 bond; Carter has bonded out on a $10,000 bond; and Jones has bonded out of jail on a $15,000 bond.

Dequan L. Brown, Joseph A. Brown, Shelton and Williams remain lodged in the Boyle County Detention Center.
