Our Savior Lutheran Church in Danville celebrates its 50th anniversary

This Sunday, Dec. 10, marks the 50th anniversary of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, located at 285 North Hill-N- Dale St., Danville and the church is hosting a celebration service starting at 9:30 a.m. followed by a brief program detailing the church history.
Our Savior held its first worship service at 7 p.m., Dec. 10, 1967, at the First Presbyterian Church in downtown Danville. In 1975, the church moved to its current location on Hill-N- Dale Street. Pastor David Witten, who currently serves the congregation, has been pastor of the church for the past 36 years.
“Our church has a strong foundation for standing by the Gospel,” Pastor Witten said. “This year the Lutheran church celebrated a 500th anniversary, so it is such a blessing for our church to celebrate its own milestone.” Witten added, “Most importantly, after 50 years of being part of the Danville community, it’s still all about Jesus!”
