Campbellsville University Carver School of Social Work Fall 2017 pinning and hooding ceremony
CAMPBELLSVILLE – Students in the Carver School of Social Work were inducted into Phi Alpha Honor Society among the awards given at the Carver School pinning ceremony Dec. 15 at Campbellsville Baptist Church.
• Helena Bergman of Paint Lick, was hooded at a Campbellsville University School of Social Work ceremony.
• Stacey Mason of Liberty, was hooded at a Campbellsville University School of Social Work ceremony.
• Savannah Young of Danville, was hooded at a Campbellsville University School of Social Work ceremony.

Majors is first runner up
Jessica Majors, a senior at Boyle County High School, was named first runner up in the 2018 Distinguished Young Women of Kentucky program (formerly known as Junior Miss) this past weekend at the Singletary Center for the Arts on University of Kentucky’s campus. She is the daughter of Perry and Donna Majors of Danville.
Jessica competed with 30 other girls from across the state in the categories of scholastic achievement, talent, interview, physical fitness and self expression. She performed a song and tap dance number to “Forget about the Boy” from Thoroughly Modern Millie for her talent and was awarded a preliminary talent award as well as preliminary awards in self expression and physical fitness.
She earned $4,400 in cash scholarships.
DYW stresses mentoring to younger girls and has a Be Your Best Self little sister program. Participating in the state program as Jessica’s little sister was Maya Smith, daughter of Mike and Kim Smith and a student at Woodlawn Elementary School.
DYW program is celebrating it’s 60th year and is open to high senior girls focusing on scholarship, leadership and talent. To learn more, visit ky.distinguishedyw.org.
Ephraim McDowell Home Health receives new cars
Ephraim McDowell Home Health recently provided its clinical staff with 18 new vehicles. Patients of Ephraim McDowell Home Health will start seeing these cars at their homes when the clinicians come to provide care. Ephraim McDowell Home Health serves patients in Anderson, Boyle, Casey, Garrard, Lincoln, Marion, Mercer and Washington Counties.
