Chamber of Commerce awards banquet to present community awards
The Danville-Boyle County Chamber of Commerce is having its 99th annual celebration and awards banquet on Friday, Feb. 2 at the Danville Country Club. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. and tickets are $50 each. Guests don’t have to be a chamber member to attend.
Several community awards will be presented to local people who, “go over and above their job in their area,” said interim chamber director, Myrna Miller. “They do it all for the community. I think it’s great to see them getting such well-deserved awards for their hard work.”
The theme for this year’s awards banquet is “And they’re off…Putting your business in the Winner’s Circle.” Special entertainment will be provided by Gregory Turay, Alltech Artist-in Residence at Centre College.

Correction
In the article “Boyle on ‘short list’ for $100M, 275-job manufacturing facility” that appeared in the Jan. 20-21 weekend issue of The Advocate-Messenger, attorney Winfield Frankel was misidentified. Frankel spoke to the Board of Adjustments as the attorney for the Boyle County Industrial Foundation.
