Bobby Prewitt, 84, of Lancaster, passed away Friday morning at Compassionate Care in Richmond. He was born on September 9, 1933 in Garrard County to the late Wiley and Nellie Sebastian Prewitt. He is survived by his loving wife, Rosemond Church Prewitt. Bobby was a veteran serving in the US Army, where he was stationed in Italy and Ft. Knox, Kentucky. During his time of service, he was a cadre in charge of a tank company. Bobby was a farmer and merchant, founding and co-owning Bluegrass Agriculture Distributors, where he served the Garrard County community for over 50 years. Family and faith were the most important attributes of his life. He was a faithful member of Gilberts Creek Baptist Church.Also surviving is a son, Bobby Ray Prewitt (Marilyn) of Lancaster; two daughters, Kathy Smith (Steve) of Paint Lick and Jackie McMurtry (Jay) of Lancaster; a brother, Kenneth Ray Prewitt (Rose Marie) of Lancaster; grandchildren: Chris Smith (Mariah), Corey Smith (Breanna), Jason McMurtry (Clare), Jana Stiles (Greg) and Tyler Prewitt (Whitney), and great-grandchildren: Lilly Stiles, Olivia Stiles, and Titus Smith.Funeral services will be 2PM Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jerry Browning and Bro. Morris Trayner officiating. Burial in Lancaster Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-9PM Monday, January 29, 2018 at the funeral home.Pallbearers are Chris Smith, Jason McMurtry, Jana Stiles, Greg Stiles, Corey Smith, Tyler Prewitt, Marc Prewitt, and Kenneth Davidson.Honorary pallbearers will be Dean and Patsy Underwood, Bernard “Doc” Ray, Freida Bolton, Caywood Metcalf, Wendell Moore, Emmitt Long, Dorlan Grimes, Wesley and Brenda Grant, Jay McMurtry, Steve Smith, Marilyn Prewitt, Roy Floyd, Lavere Adams, Wayne Broadus, JT Broadus, Kenneth Prewitt, Rose Marie Prewitt, Billy Joe and Paulette Osborne, Darrell Bolton, and Kenny Bolton.
