The Boyle County Fire Department responded to a single-story structure fire at 5325 Lebanon Road at about 11:50 a.m. Wednesday.
The home was near Irvin Road, about three miles west of the Danville bypass, according to Boyle County Fire Department Public Information Officer Tim Middleton.
“The first units on scene confirmed smoke coming out of the structure,” Middleton said. There were no occupants or pets at the residence at the time of the fire.
Middleton said five fire vehicles and 15 firefighters responded to the fire; they were able to contain the fire to the center of the structure, involving a section of the basement and surrounding area directly above it on the main floor and into the attic. The structure is still standing, he said.
This is the third structure fire in the county. The first two occurred in Junction City on Sunday morning and on Tuesday morning, on East Ila Avenue and Shelby Street. None of the fires are believed to be suspicious.
