Lincoln library holding school readiness event
STANFORD — The Lincoln County Community Early Childhood Council is sponsoring “Whooo’s Ready to Learn? A School Readiness event for ages 3-5” 4:30-6:30 p.m. March 6 at Lincoln County Public Library, 201 Lancaster St. in Stanford. The last admission will be accepted at 6 p.m.
Each family will receive a free kindergarten readiness kit, while supplies last. Age-appropriate activities will be available for children and their older siblings. Tips and information will be provided for parents.

McDowell Place of Danville offering Senior University
McDowell Place of Danville will host Senior University on Thursday. Senior University is an educational series offering persons over 50 years of age a varied program of learning opportunities designed for intellectual stimulation, cultural experiences and personal enjoyment.
The upcoming program entitled “Samuel McDowell: The Spanish Conspiracy and Kentucky Statehood” will be presented by Tom V. Ellis. The program will provide an insightful look into the life of Judge Samuel McDowell and the impact he made on Kentucky and American history as the Chairman of our Commonwealth’s Constitutional Conventions back in 1792.
The program begins at 10:30 a.m. Thursday and will last 45 minutes to one hour. McDowell Place of Danville is located at 1181 Ben Ali Drive.
