1938-2018

Walter Rollie VonLinger, 79, of Moreland passed away Friday, March 23, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his family. Born July 12, 1938, he was the son of the late Walter Ray and Minnie Ruth Tillett VonLinger. Rollie owned and operated VonLinger Shell, Unocal, and Marathon Stations in Danville for forty years. An accomplished businessman, he later operated VonLinger Marine. He loved fishing, boating and his grandchildren and was a devoted husband and father. He was also a Mason, a member of Franklin Lodge # 28 F and AM. Rollie is survived by his wife of 57 years, Donna McWhorter VonLinger of Moreland; and two sons: Rollie Wayne (Amy) VonLinger of Moreland and Dwight (Myria) VonLinger of Danville. He had four grandchildren: Megan VonLinger (Andre Alcorn), Madeline VonLinger, Ryllie Z’Anne VonLinger (2004-2010) and Zayne Vonlinger; two great grandchildren, Jaxxon Brown and Jerzee Alcorn; eight sisters: Flo Harmon of Danville, Freida (Paul) Sluder of Waynesburg, Fonda (Kenneth) Hamilton of Waynesburg, Sue Nordin of Stanford, Judy VonLinger of Danville, Linda (Bobby) Maddox of Hustonville, Loretta Langford of Danville, and Donna Wilson (Eddie Noe) of Junction City; and one brother, James (Hershelean) VonLinger of Junction City. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Rose Coffman. Services will be at 1 pm, Wednesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home, Moreland by Bro. Doug Davis and Bro. Gary Morris with burial in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Visitation is 4-9 pm, Tuesday with a Masonic Service at 7 pm. Pallbearers are Kim McWhorter, Larry McWhorter, Dale Harmon, Randy Phillips, Mark Maddox and Greg Walls. Honorary pallbearers are nieces, nephews and Earl Kleckner .
