Mary Magdalene (Kidd) Calton

1930-2018

Mary Magdalene (Kidd) Calton, 88 of Stanford, passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 at her home. She was the wife of the late Jim Calton who preceded her in death on November 8, 1987. 

Mary was born in the community of Broughtontown, in Lincoln County on March 5, 1930. She was a daughter of the late James Earl and Susie Elizabeth (Neal) Kidd. Mary was a member of the New Hope First Church of God. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, painting, gardening, canning and working cross word puzzles. Mary was loving mother and grandmother.

Survivors Include her four daughters, Carol and husband Loyal Singleton of Eubank, Susan and husband William S. Lane of Junction City, Marty and husband Homer Tankersley of Stanford, and Jamie and husband James Adams of Crab Orchard; two half sisters, Myrtle Evelyn and Edna Faye; three half brothers, Ronnie Earl, Charles David and Darrell Wayne Kidd; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren,

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Latitia Bryant and Oakie Mae Kidd; and three brothers, George Daniel, James William and John Henry Kidd.

Pallbearers include Kevin, Aaron and Jeff Singleton, Matthew and Logan Adams, Jeremy Thompson and William Lane

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Harold Harness officiating. Burial will be in the Sophus Cemetery. Visitation after 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at McKnight Funeral Home.
