Ronald H. Smith

1940-2018

Ronald H. Smith, 77, of Shelbyville (formerly of Danville), passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, KY.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he is survived by his wife of 54 years, Doris Logue Smith; daughters, Laketa Clay (Jim) and Ronda O’Donoghue (Jim); and grandchildren, Jacob Clay, Samantha Clay, Clayton O’Donoghue, Emma O’Donoghue, and Eli O’Donoghue.

He was a retired tradesman from Philips Lighting (formerly Corning Glass) in Danville. He was also a farmer and an avid coonhunter. He attended Salt River Baptist Church in Danville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Lela Brown Smith; brothers, Louis and Joe Smith; and sisters, Beulah Brown, Aldean Seltsam, Audrey Hurt, Persie Smith, and Margie Smith.

A private “Celebration of Life” event will be held at a later.
