1936-2018

Donald Lewis Harden, 81, of Danville, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore.

He was born on July 26, 1936, in Taylor County, Kentucky to the late Clement and Lettie White Harden. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Shirley Norvell Harden.

Don was a proud veteran serving in the US Army. He retired from Whirlpool, was a custodian for Garrard County Middle School, and owned SD Paint Store in Lancaster, Kentucky.

Along with his wife Shirley, Don is survived by his daughters, Sherry Stanley (Henry) of Florida and Dawn Miller (Jay) of Brandenburg; a son, Breck Cochran (Jennifer) of Danville, a sister, Aileen Wilcoxson (Frank) of Campbellsville; grandchildren: Melissa Quinones (Steven), Kasey Stanley, Kennedy Harden, Bailey Harden, Brianna Harden, John, Ethan, Cole, and Zoey Miller.

He was preceded in death by a son, Brian Harden; a grandson, Kevin Stanley; two brothers, Bobby and Haskell Harden; and a sister, Frances Rogers.

Funeral services 1 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Chaplain Robert Barnard, Jr. officiating. Burial at 2:30 p.m. at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation 12 p.m.-1 p.m. at the funeral home.
