Buy the book: Friends of the Library holds a book sale twice a year to benefit Boyle County Public Library and its programs. Proceeds from the sales go to fund many areas, including events sponsored by Friends, Summer Reading programs and touch screen computers in the Children’s Library, just to name a few. The sale opens next Thursday, May 10, at 1 p.m, and runs through 3 p.m. Saturday, May 12. Anyone can come by during the library’s regular business hours and peruse the huge selection of used books for sale — just in time for summer vacation. Book genres include history, popular fiction, cookbooks, children’s books and more. Most books range from $1-$5, but there are some that sell for less, as well as other more rare books that will sell for more.
