Dear Editor,

I support Rita Douglas for Boyle County Jailer. She’s the most qualified, most educated, most experienced and most calm in crisis.

She has vast experience working for the State Department of Corrections, supervising 450-500 offenders. She has 12 years experience as unit supervisor at Northpoint Training Center, which is a medium-security state prison. If she was able to deal with that prison population, she is more than qualified to operate a county jail.

She holds three degrees: BA in Juvenile Justice, BA in Sociology, BA in Criminal Justice and a graduate Sum Cum Laude (4.0 GPA).

She is also a fiscal conservative, which would guarantee good stewardship over taxpayer funds.
