Tasting party was a success, again

Dear Editor,

On Monday, May 7, The Harrodsburg Historical Society hosted their 28th annual Tasting Party and it never gets OLD. Where can you get a wonderful meal served at an excellent price in a historic tavern setting? We had returning guests, first-time participants, delicious food, delightful guests, and the beautiful setting of our Morgan Row facility. It is a great way to showcase the importance of our historical heritage and these fundraising events help to preserve it.

The work of HHS board members and kitchen chair “extraordinaire” Jane Eitreim assisted by husband “dishwasher” Dane, long-time worker and hostess Myrgle Huffman, assisted by her son Fred Huffman, with Maggie Hardy as decorator assisted by husband, Tom, as well as the many who worked including our wait staff of homeschoolers organized by Sharnett Imfeld, are indeed a testimony of leadership and teamwork.

And last, but not least, all the contributors of food are to be thanked. They are what make the Tasting Party a true tasty delight! We not only had individual members and friends provide items, but some local restaurant owners and businesses added their talents. Thank you to Jennfer Kazimer of the Kentucky Fudge Company for the delicious potato salad, Jeff Claycomb at Lee’s Famous Recipe for chicken, Subway at the Corral Center for sandwiches, Florentino Marlotte of the Kountry Kupboard for country ham salad, and Tim Ellis at Ellis Florist and Gifts, Jan Briscoe at Royalty’s Florist, and Kroger for flowers.

With the great publicity provided by Bobbie Curd and The Advocate-Messenger, we were delighted to see many join us from Danville and the surrounding area. We sincerely appreciate the publicity provided by this newspaper and the readers who are aware of all the great events publicized.
