Garden Club awards: At the May meeting of the Garden Club of Danville, awards were presented from the Garden Club of Kentucky for projects and activities in 2017. Accepting awards are, from left, members Martha Caywood, Sandy Reigelman, Susan Jonas and Alice Biggers. The club received first-place ribbons and cash awards for its National Garden Week activities, press book/publicity, tree planting, and membership. National Garden Week and press book/publicity also received first-place awards from the South Atlantic Region of National Garden Clubs and have been submitted for national awards. A second-place red ribbon was won for the club’s scrapbook.
