Coming Up:Libraries Rock!

The library is busy gearing up for summer reading. Librarians have been visiting with teachers and students at local schools to talk about upcoming summer reading events, which begin on June 4 with the Summer Reading Kick-Off Party.

This year, the theme for summer reading is “Libraries Rock!” and will feature different types of music-inspired activities for kids of all ages. Activities include ukulele lessons, trivia contests, musical movie nights, musical guests, special performers, science clubs, rock painting, dance classes, artistic activities, book clubs and more.

All library-sponsored events and activities are free of charge. A complete listing of summer reading activities will be available in the library to the general public at the end of May.

In addition to in-house activities, outreach librarian Brittany Smith will continue to bring the Bookmobile to numerous locations each week, providing library access and summer reading activities to those children who are unable to visit the library.

Students of all ages are encouraged to keep reading all summer long. Those who complete a reading log will earn books and prizes. Registration will begin on June 4thand will continue throughout the summer. More information about all events at the Library can be found online at BoylePubLib.org.
