Gallery Hop, 5:30-8 p.m. May 31 in downtown Danville. Free event where area artists are set up in multiple venues, marked with purple flags and maps available at each. Music, food and drinks, along with unique art fills the night. Organized by the Arts Commission of Danville/Boyle County. 

The Illustrated Word, a Mahan Gallery Art Exhibit, through June 22 at Boyle County Public Library (BCPL), 307 W. Broadway St. The Kentucky Arts Council presents a traveling exhibit that connects visual art and literature. Info: (859) 238-7323

Second Look Quilt Challenge opening reception, 5:30-8 p.m. May 31 at Community Arts Center (CAC), 401 W. Main St.  This exhibit is all about the can-do spirit of upcycling, reuse, and creativity. Kentucky Chautauqua: Adolph Rupp, 6 p.m. June 7 at LCPL, Stanford. During the 42 years he coached the University of Kentucky men’s basketball team, Rupp raised the game to near-religious status in the Commonwealth.
