Henry William ‘Bill’ Hale

1930-2018

Henry William ‘Bill’ Hale, 87, died Thursday, May 24, 2018. He was born in Casey County on December 5, 1930, to the late William David and Alice Linnie Lane Hale. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary. He owned and operated Bill Hale Auto Sales and Perryville Pawn Shop and attended Immanuel Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a son, Henry Hale Jr.; a step-son, Denny Woodrum; a daughter, Rita Payne; a step-daughter, Margaret Ann Green; six brothers and sisters, Howard Hale, Hattie Raines, Harmon Hale, Homer Hale, Hester Vermillion and Hubert Hale; a grandson, John Colyer Jr.; and a nephew, Butch Hale.

He is survived by a son, Gary (Sandy) Hale of Colorado Springs; a sister, Helen Hale of Ft. Myers, Fla.; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 18 nieces and nephews, including Connie (Garry) Stevens, Karen (John) Caddell and Shirley (Gordon) Sheron locally.

The graveside service will be 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 a.m., Tuesday at Stith Funeral Home, Danville, prior to the graveside service. Memorial donations are suggested to Heritage Hospice.
