CAMPBELLSVILLE — At the annual 32nd Excellence in Teaching Ceremony, Campbellsville University recognized 169 teachers from 60 school districts. A total of 3,749 teachers have been recognized for their teaching excellence throughout the years.

Awarded recipients include:

Dr. Keith Look, Danville Independent Schools superintendent; Heather Gover, Toliver Elementary School; Anthony Carney, Bate Middle School; and Derek Otto, Danville High School were included. 

Garrard County — Corey Keith, superintendent; Heather Shepherd, Lancaster Elementary School; Nathan Carrier, Garrard Middle School; and Laura Hoskins, Garrard County High School. Shepherd is a first grade teacher at Lancaster Elementary School, where she has taught since 2013. Previously, she had worked at Landsdowne Elementary School from 2004 until 2010.

Shepherd graduated from Rockcastle High School. In 2004, she obtained bachelor of science and master of arts degrees from Eastern Kentucky University. In 2012, she received her Rank I from the University of the Cumberlands.

Carrier teaches seventh grade social studies at Garrard County Middle School, where he has been teaching since 2006. He graduated from Garrard County High School in 2000. He attended Eastern Kentucky University, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in 2006 and his master’s degree in 2016.

Hoskins teaches 12th grade English and drama at Garrard County High School, where she has taught since 2015. Previously, she had taught English at Danville Christian Academy from 2007 until 2015.

Hoskins graduated in 1986 from Madison Central High School. In 2007, she received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Eastern Kentucky University.
