Casey County grand jury hands up indictments on four

The following people were indicted by a Casey County grand jury on June 11:

• Casey Lauren Cox, 26, 1111 Burger Knob Road, Junction City: first-degree bail jumping, by failing to appear before the Casey County District Court for a scheduled arraignment; first-degree possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia. A blanket bail was set at $2,500. Geoff Brown with the Casey County Sheriff’s Office testified.

• John L. Whitaker Jr., 37, 109 Driftwood Lane, Frankfort: second-degree manslaughter, for allegedly driving a motor vehicle, which caused the death of Phillip Tayler Dillon; three counts first-degree assault for allegedly engaging in conduct that created a grave risk of death or injury to Christy Sweet, Jeffrey Sweet and Jordyn Harley; three counts fourth-degree assault for allegedly causing physical injury to Monty Britton, Harley Whitaker and John M. Whitaker; driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, second offense. A blanket bail was set at $100,000 cash. Adam Likins with Kentucky State Police testified.

• Rodney Lee Fair, 40, 10367 West Ky. 70: first-degree possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine. Previous bond continued. Chad Weddle with the CCSO testified.

• Isaiah Lee Phillips, 30, 451 Ivy Road, Parksville: trafficking in synthetic drugs, second or more offense, firearms enhanced; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of marijuana; carrying a concealed deadly weapon. Bond from district court case continued. Billy Beagley with KSP testified.
