1937-2018

Donald “Don” C. Merida, 81, of Lancaster, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Charleston Health Care Center in Danville, Ky.

He was born February 20, 1937, to parents Chester and Garnett Fathergill Merida.

Surviving is his loving wife of 63 years of marriage, Jayne Huffman Merida; four children, Terry M. Lucas of Lancaster, Kathy M. Ball of Lancaster, Scotty Merida (Susan) of Lancaster, and Tony Merida (Cindy) of Nicholasville; eight grandchildren, Kevin Lucas, Coy Lucas, Lindsay B. Ames, Betsy B. Carrier, Presley Merida, Troy Merida, Trey Merida, and Marcus Merida; and three great-grandchildren, Hallie Carrier, Felicity Ames, and Cameron Lucas. Don also leaves behind his beloved cat, Hairy Harry.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lewis M. Walter officiating. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.
