1927-2018

Wilmagene Robinson Shannon, 90, passed away June 10, 2018, in Lexington, KY.

She was born December 3, 1927, to the late Laurence and Hazel Robinson in Madison County, Ky., and lived the majority of her life in Danville. Wilmagene was a 1945 graduate of Danville High School. She was a retired bookkeeper from Parks Belk and Greenleaf Furniture. She was a member of the First Chirstian Church, the Kentucky Belles and Barborsan Quartet.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Shannon; a brother, Wendell Robinson; a sister, Connie Rankin; and son-in-law, Mike Damron.

She is survived by two daughters, Donna (Allan) Elliott, and Cindy Damron; a son, Steve (Sara) Shannon; six grandchildren, Leigh Gaines, Cat Fizzell, Susan Gaines, Meg (Brandon) Durbeck, Benjamin (Rebecca) Gaines, III, and Bill Shannon; and five great-grandchildren, Olivia Missner, Alexandria Silva, Lauren Fugate, Madison Durbeck and Wyatt Durbeck. She also had a special love for Cindy’s dog, Sadie.
